Added value for prosperity
Between 2006 and 2009 HHLA’s accumulated added value totalled nearly 2.1 billion euros. The Group thus made a substantial contribution to the prosperity of society.
New life within old walls
Hamburg’s Speicherstadt (Warehouse City) was built by HHLA and has been managed by HHLA for over 125 years. It is regarded as a perfect example of sensitive and commercially successful further development of an entire quarter.
Certificated quality
To render the performance of HHLA Container Terminal Altenwerder transparent for customers, it has been recertified by Germanischer Lloyd under the Container Terminal Quality Indicator (CTQI).
Transparent added value performance
The Investor Relations department makes HHLA’s development of added value continuously transparent. HHLA received an award for the best investor relations in Germany in a 2009 readership survey.
Compliance
HHLA regards observation of all legal regulations and guidelines as a vital part of its corporate governance and has initiated a compliance programme for this.

Sustainable cooperation with suppliers
With an annual purchasing volume running into a three-digit million euro sum, cooperation with suppliers is seen as a top priority. Maintenance of social standards, environment legislation and all the relevant laws and regulations is regulated by our purchasing conditions and agreements. A survey of suppliers on sustainability-relevant topics also reinforces awareness among our suppliers of sustainable company management.
