At our terminal maintenance workshops you will be introduced to a broad range of technical careers. You will have the opportunity to work with our impressive heavy machinery, such as our container gantry cranes, automated guided vehicles and straddle carriers, our high ground-handling vehicles. Following a successful internship you may also apply for an apprenticeship with us.
You will be doing real work during your internship. The focus will be on gathering work experience as an industrial mechanic, electronics technician for automation technology, mechatronics engineer or mechatronics engineer for refrigeration technology.
The first day starts with a welcome meeting. This is followed by an introduction to the areas you will work in, safety instructions and a fitting (work clothing provided by us). Your contact will introduce you to the areas you’ll be working in and there will be final feedback talks at the end of the internship. Our recommendations will allow you to prepare yourself for a career in the technical sector.
We have used this internship model since the inception of HTS and have offered permanent contracts in technical positions to HTS apprentices for the last four years.
After the first year of the HTS or after graduation, you can consider completing a vocational training course in the technical field. You have a good tolerance for heights and are able to work on the container gantry cranes. You are motivated to work with technology and independent, willing to work with our colleagues in the workshops and at the container terminals, and willing to support them in their work. You are planning to attend or are already attending a technical college:
