THEN: In 1972, Hamburg’s first container rail terminal at Burchardkai is still partly under construction. The surfacing is being carried out using Stelcon flagstones, a very popular technology of the time.

NOW: In 2006, the new rail container terminal was opened at HHLA Container Terminal Burchardkai. When fully operational, up to 1 million standard containers will be moved here annually on 11 tracks.
