HHLA’s Energy Management Certified

HHLA has successfully completed the roll-out of an energy management system that is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001:2001. The final step to achieving this was the certification audit carried out recently by GUT CERT GmbH, one of the leading certification companies for management systems. The introduction of a certified energy management system forms part of HHLA’s sustainability strategy, and is intended to exploit existing potential in the area of energy efficiency. This will help HHLA to achieve the ambitious climate protection target that it has set itself.

The energy management system focuses on an efficient use of electricity, district heating and fuels, and the use of efficient equipment, facilities and processes is of central importance here. This is necessary not least because HHLA has committed itself to continually increasing energy efficiency. The holding company’s energy management system, which has now been certified, lays the foundation for further certifications at the HHLA companies.

HHLA’s energy management team is delighted at receiving the certification. Sustainability and energy management officer at HHLA, Jan Hendrik Pietsch: “That was a great team effort. We received the certification without a single objection.”
