HHLA PLT Italy

The multi-function terminal HHLA PLT Italy (Piattaforma Logistica Trieste) is an important part of the Italian seaport of Trieste and is located within the Free Port zone. Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) has acquired a majority stake in the terminal.

The port facilities consist of an area for the handling of assorted break bulk such as wood, steel coils and aluminium. Storage, packing and other logistics services are offered here. The newly built area of the 27-hectare terminal provides berths deep enough for RoRo and container ships.

HHLA PLT Italy has established its own rail connection. As a logistics hub on the Baltic-Adriatic line, Trieste is not only very well connected with Central and Eastern Europe but also offers connections all the way to the Baltic region. PLT will use this strategically relevant position to strengthen eco-friendly rail transportation with the European hinterland.
