Electronics technician for automation technology (m/f/d)

In the port, the goods seem to move as if by magic. And our electronics technicians for automation technology make it possible. Over three and a half years we will train you to become a specialist in maintaining our modern technical handling equipment, such as container gantry cranes. The practical aspects will be taught at HHLA’s container terminals in Hamburg, while the theoretical training will be provided at the Hamburg Institute for Vocational Education and Training’s Altona technical college for energy technology BS 22. A combination of theoretical and practical training will be provided by the Hamburg Vocational Training Centre.

We can help you to become an expert in electronics technology. You will learn about changing the container gantry cranes’ SPS programming. Following the apprenticeship you will be able to effortlessly replace three-phase motors, maintain generators and change relays, among other things. You will also become acquainted with control technology. You can also work independently on projects during the apprenticeship and have the option to spend periods of six to eight weeks abroad.

What you can expect

Are you a natural problem-solver who is interested in technology? Are you open, committed and a team player? Then we’re looking for you. This position requires a high school certificate equivalent to GCSEs. You also need to have a good tolerance for heights to work on the container gantry cranes.
