The main product groups listed here correspond with how HHLA Purchasing is organised. The area is divided into three departments, each of which has its own specific strategic and operative role.

Engineering

The Equipment and Energy department is in charge of purchasing port handling equipment (large machinery/equipment), vehicles, maintenance and leasing as well as fuel and energy. In cooperation with our engineers and partners, special solutions are often developed in order to fulfil particular requirements.

Construction

The Construction department deals with procurement in the areas of construction above and below ground, railway construction and facility management. This includes the corresponding planning and engineering services as well as maintenance and repair services.
Due to the dynamic environment, our partners need to meet very high requirements when implementing and executing commissioned work. Innovation, quality, efficiency and observance of deadlines are therefore important criteria when selecting our partners.

IT and Indirect Services

The IT and Indirect Services department covers the procurement of goods and services in the area of information technology and in the area of indirect services. Innovation, creativity and outstanding quality are prerequisites when considering partners. Expectations are extraordinarily high, especially when it comes to system solutions in the area of container throughput.
