Corporate governance

On 26 February 2002, an independent commission appointed by the German federal government presented a German Corporate Governance Code for the first time. The Code outlines the main legal regulations regarding management and supervision of German companies with a stock exchange listing and incorporates internationally and nationally recognised standards on good and responsible company management.

The Code renders the German corporate governance system transparent and comprehensible. It strengthens the trust of investors, customers, staff and the public in the management and supervision of German companies with a stock exchange listing.

HHLA regards corporate governance as a central requirement of responsible and value-oriented management. This has always represented a high priority at HHLA. We, as the Supervisory Board and Executive Board, therefore, expressly support the Code and the aims and purposes pursued thereby.
