Anchored in the Port of Hamburg, with a network spanning Europe. HHLA stands for more than just Port Logistics. Since our foundation in 1885, we have developed into one of Europe's leading network logistics companies. With our extensive logistics network, we enable a smooth connection between seaports, inland regions and international markets, and offer customer-oriented, forward-looking solutions for the global flow of goods.
Our heart beats in the Port of Hamburg, where we combine our extensive know-how, our innovative strength and our many years of experience. From here, we connect important locations in Europe with our strategically positioned logistics network. Via our numerous logistics hubs, we create seamless connections between European ports and the hinterland. Our goal: sustainable, resilient and reliable supply chains that meet the growing demands of transport logistics.
Hamburg forms the heart of our HHLA logistics network, which connects large parts of Europe. Our terminals play a major role in making the Port of Hamburg one of Europe's major logistics hubs. At our HHLA Container Terminals Altenwerder, Burchardkai and Tollerort, we rely on modern technologies and efficient container handling processes. Our terminals are designed to meet the requirements of international container traffic and enable seamless connections between sea and hinterland transport.
At the universal terminal O'Swaldkai, two HHLA subsidiaries come together, which can handle practically any ship's cargo. At UNIKAI, our focus is on rolling cargo (RoRo) and project cargo. Here, vehicles and heavy goods vehicles, as well as other goods, are handled and, if necessary, stored in the yard. Our HHLA Fruit and Refrigeration Centre is Germany's largest fruit terminal. It ensures temperature-controlled storage and processing of imported fruit, while our subsidiary Ulrich Stein is responsible for timely delivery. We are also involved in Hansaport, Germany's largest terminal for bulk goods. It is the only one in the world to handle the entire process chain – from discharging to storage and delivery – in a fully automated way.
As Germany's largest seaport and the world's second largest railway port, the Hamburg location offers a strategic access point to the European logistics network with excellent connections to the hinterland.
Our terminals at the seaports of Tallinn, Trieste and Odessa are central hubs in their respective regions. They expand the HHLA network and help to make the transport of goods in Europe efficient and sustainable.
Our multi-purpose terminal HHLA TK Estonia in Muuga serves as a logistics hub in the Baltic region and plays a key role in transit traffic. As the country's market leader in container handling, HHLA TK Estonia not only takes care of containers, but also breakbulk and bulk cargo, as well as ro-ro cargo. The terminal is connected to the European rail network, which is being rapidly expanded in the direction of the Baltic. This provides fast and efficient hinterland connections to important economic regions.
HHLA PLT Italy in Trieste is strategically located in the free trade zone and connects the Adriatic with Central and Eastern Europe. As a multi-purpose terminal, HHLA PLT Italy offers a wide range of services, including the handling of containers, RoRo cargo and general cargo, as well as yard and packaging services. Thanks to its direct rail connection, the terminal is optimally linked to HHLA's European network and ensures efficient connections between sea and hinterland transport.
In Odessa on the Black Sea, our Container Terminal Odessa provides access to the markets of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. In addition to the handling of containers, bulk goods, general cargo and project cargo are also handled here.
With our seaport terminals, we create the basis for efficient and resilient supply chains in Europe. Modern technology, automation and our highly qualified employees ensure seamless processing.
