Working smart and with foresight

At the port and on the rails, loads weighing several tonnes have to be sent off correctly. This means working smarter, instead of working harder as we did in the past.

As attentive checkers, skilled portal forklift truck or tractor unit drivers, or sitting in a container gantry crane cabin with a view over the river Elbe – this is how the majority of the HHLA workforce spend their time in operating port throughput as employees of the commercial side. They work in teams on various logistical tasks using the most up-to-date technology and innovative methods. They see shift work and the comprehensive training options as opportunities.

By training as a specialist in port logistics or joining us from another sector you can become a docker at the Port of Hamburg. As soon as our employees have gained enough experience we support them in training to become a docker or to gain a licence to operate new technology.

HHLA offers a very broad spectrum of work combined with development and training opportunities. Are you interested in technical topics and varied and challenging tasks and projects? Are you prepared to take on responsibility and keep the port rolling? Then you’re right for us!
