Mercurio awards HHLA PLT Italy for sustainability

The German-Italian business association Mercurio, which awards the prize of the same name every year, has presented HHLA PLT Italy with a special award for services to sustainability. HHLA's subsidiary in Trieste was recognised for "Sustainable Intermodal Logistics" and the merits of a European Alliance for a Sustainable Logistics Centre.

The prize was accepted by Philip Sweens, Managing Director of HHLA International and Francesco Parisi, Chairman of PLT's Executive Board. Antonio Barbara, CEO of HHLA PLT Italy is delighted: "We thank the Italian-German economic Association Mercurio for their acknowledgment which is testimony to our effort for sustainable logistics. Our entire team is dedicating itself with commitment to HHLA’s goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2040."

The "Premio Mercurio" has been awarded since 1999 for significant achievements in connection with the promotion of German-Italian economic relations. The jury pays particular attention to public impact, strengthening the Italian image and brands in Germany and vice versa, as well as entrepreneurial courage and achievement.
