Description of the position:
The Maintenance Coordinator supports the day-to-day execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities on terminal equipment, ensuring safe access, efficient scheduling, and accurate tracking of maintenance progress and downtime. The role acts as a key interface between Maintenance, Operations, Control Room, Shift Leaders, and Contractors, contributing to equipment availability, safety compliance, and data integrity within the Maintenance Management System (MMS).
Responsabilities:
Maintenance Coordination & Execution
• Coordinate daily preventive and corrective maintenance activities in line with the approved maintenance plan.
• Support the release and return of equipment in close coordination with Operations and the Control Room.
• Monitor and track the real-time status of equipment under maintenance, including downtime and progress updates.
• Verify completion of maintenance tasks and ensure accurate and timely updates in the MMS.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure proper implementation of LOTO procedures, work permits, and safe equipment access prior to maintenance execution.
• Support and enforce the practical application of Risk Assessments, JSAs, SOPs, and safety procedures on site.
• Lead and coordinate Toolbox Talks (TBTs) to reinforce safety awareness and correct work practices.
• Actively report and follow up on unsafe conditions, near misses, and non-conformities.
Coordination & Communication
• Serve as an operational link between Maintenance, Operations, Control Room, Shift Leaders, and external Contractors.
• Support the Senior Maintenance Coordinator in performance monitoring and reporting.
• Ensure timely and effective communication regarding equipment availability, maintenance status, and operational constraints.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
• Contribute to maintenance performance tracking (e.g. availability, downtime, execution efficiency).
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance processes, safety, and coordination.
• Promote discipline, accountability, and adherence to HHLA PLT standards.

Requirements:
Education & Experience
• Technical school diploma or engineering background (mechanical, electrical, industrial, or similar).
• 2–5 years of experience in maintenance coordination, maintenance planning, or field maintenance execution.
• Preferably experienced in mechanical and/or electrical operations, port equipment, industrial plants, or logistics environments
Technical Skills & Knowledge Required (specific skills and knowledge required for the position)
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge applicable to industrial or port equipment.
• Understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance principles.
• Familiarity with LOTO procedures, work permits, and safe maintenance practices.
• Experience working with Maintenance Management Systems (MMS / CMMS).
• Ability to monitor equipment status and maintenance progress in real time.
• Basic understanding of maintenance KPIs (availability, downtime, execution efficiency).
