omoqo has announced its first commercial development partnership with Cargo-Terminal Lehmann (CTL). The terminal is now working with a new kind of terminal operating system from omoqo. The Hamburg-based startup is backed by Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA).
CTL is using the omoqo Software to digitize core operational workflows. omoqo’s cloud-based, modular terminal operating system was developed in close collaboration with terminal operators. The Terminal Operating Modules (TOM) are designed to simplify terminal operations for small and mid-sized terminals without the rigidity of legacy systems. As a modular platform, TOM allows terminals to selectively digitize and scale processes at their own pace. CTL, which specializes in container handling, is using TOM to digitalize specific functions in its daily container operations.
Alexander Berg, Head of Operations, at Cargo-Terminal Lehmann: “We were looking for a solution that wouldn’t require a massive system overhaul but could still deliver real operational impact. With TOM, we’ve been able to improve transparency and reduce manual workload without disrupting our day-to-day business.”
The implementation at CTL was completed in 8 weeks, with onboarding and training being minimally invasive to ongoing operations. Other initial results show measurable improvements in data quality and process visibility. The goal: gradually replace manual tasks and fragmented tools by omoqo’s TOM.
Niko Kaufmann, Managing Director of omoqo: “With TOM, we aren’t offering a finished product. We’re building a new standard together with the industry. Cargo-Terminal Lehmann is our first commercial development partner. Alongside CTL, there are further co-creators helping us shape a solution that is intuitive, transparent, and ready to grow with their needs.”
TOM differs from traditional TOS solutions in both philosophy and execution. Its rapid deployment allows terminals of any size to benefit from digitalization without large up-front investment or long implementation process. omoqo will onboard additional development partners and aims to expand TOM’s functional scope iteratively, based on real-world feedback.
omoqo is a Hamburg-based technology company building TOM - a modular, cloud-native terminal operating system developed with terminal operators. Founded in 2022, omoqo’s mission is to help logistics companies simplify operations, reduce complexity, and unlock sustainable growth through modern software. The company combines startup agility with many years of expertise in port operations and logistics.
