Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) has resumed the handling of containers bound for Russia at the terminals in Hamburg to a limited extent. Prerequisite is that the onward transport of the containers is secured and the contents are not covered by the sanctions imposed on Russia after the attack on Ukraine. The inspection and decision as to whether the transported goods fall under the current sanctions is the responsibility of German Customs and the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control. In order to ensure the onward transport of the containers, HHLA is in close contact with customs and its customers.
