What HHLA is doing to protect the climate

New sustainability magazine illustrates Group-wide projects.

Following the theme of “Balanced Logistics”, Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) has firmly anchored its sustainability strategy into its business model. The entire HHLA Group aims to be in climate-neutral production by 2040. In the past year, the company has come one big step closer to achieving this goal. Greenhouse gas emissions were reduced by almost 20 percent in 2021 compared to the previous year. The further electrification of the terminal and logistics processes and the increasing use of energy from renewable sources make a huge contribution to achieving HHLA’s climate goals.

In the sustainability report, you can read about HHLA’s sustainability performance. The sustainability magazine also illustrates how the company finds a balance between economic success, good working conditions and environmental protection. It describes selected projects under the HHLA sustainability strategy, “Balanced Logistics”. It also shows how the company contributes to the implementation of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
